Welcome To South Devon Railway Signalling Online
Welcome to our new look website!
This site is dedicated to the signalling on the South Devon Railway.
This site is aimed at enthusiasts but will hopefully be of interest to anyone who has an interest in the South Devon Railway, railways in general and signalling as a whole.
It is hoped that this site will help to give people an idea of what goes on behind the scenes, how the signalling helps to make the railway work and how to get involved if your interested.
In time we also hope to have pages explaining the various regulations governing signalling, how certain instruments work and what their purposes are, and a section on the life of a signalman on the South Devon Railway.
At the moment this Website is still very much under construction, as it is being built up by volunteers which lead very busy lives inside and outside the railway it may take a while, so please bear with us as everything comes together, but hopefully the finished product will be worth the wait!
If you have any suggestions for content you would like to see on the site, information which may prove useful to fill in any gaps you find, general comments on the look or usability of the site, or feedback at all please do get in contact with us, we will always be happy to hear from you! Contact can be made via the contact page HERE.
All content on this site is copyright of the volunteers whom wrote the articles or as credited, for more information please get in contact. We strive to be, but may not be 100% accurate, but in time the reference pages will be updated so sources used for articles may be found by others wishing to research more into any of our covered subjects. It is also hoped in time that the SDR Museum will be bought online and as many of their resources too will become available to the larger public. So watch this space and we hope you enjoy our site!
